In 2015, with the digital wave pushing everyone to be more digital savvy Mobilink created a Digital department trying to build more modern products and services that had user experience and process efficiencies at its center. We were part of an ambitious project to redesign Mobilink Website’s digital experience to focus on their customer's needs and pain points.

Jazz is the biggest mobile operator in Pakistan, with the largest voice and data network and the most customers. The company traces its history back to 1994 when it became the first GSM operator in Pakistan.
Working with Jazz, the telecom giant formerly known as Mobilink, was a real adventure for Venture Republic. We got to ‘jazz’ up their visual game, turning their history and innovation commitment into cool designs. Whether we were revamping mobile interfaces or adding a creative touch to their digital solutions, every project was a chance to mix creativity with practicality.
Kicking off The Project
Mobilink was looking to make a mark in the digital world with its revamped website. The company was on a mission to cater to the ever-evolving nature of consumer needs in the industry to digitally transform its services.

Our first meeting with Mobilink was extensive; they were clear with their ask (Re-design Website  Experience, add in commerce, and a customer care portal) but were concerned about the impact of this newly designed website on user experience and final purchase decisions.

Understanding The Problem
During the first few weeks, we dove deep into analytics; understanding existing physical user journey maps and web traffic patterns to ensure that user pain points were addressed, ease of navigation, and building digital platforms that centered around user needs and goals.
Defining Iterative Solutions
Throughout the discovery process, we identified key areas that needed attention. Given the limited timespan of 8 weeks, we went all-hands-on-deck.
We defined clear goals:
  • Create a Responsive Website Design experience to ensure adaptability across various devices and screens. Ensure the website is built keeping in mind various personas and is able to communicate details to these personas with ease a crucial element given how Mobilink allows them to take the first step towards digitalizing their user experience.
  • Design a User-Centered Website with consistent branding to improve user experience and reduce dependency on traditional support and information centers (Helpline, Customer care centers)
  • Build a website that helps users get the right information they need quickly and allows them to buy devices and packages that align with their communication needs
  • Build an e-care portal to allow users to easily customize their call package, add/remove VAS services, view call logs, and pay their bills
User Research
Cross Functional Collaboration was key; over the next 8 weeks, design workshops with key personnel from various departments, Content audits, UX research to gain key user insights and carefully putting together data from analytics to understand user behavior patterns helped us deliver a website that had all the key features for a new website.
